We have had an exciting and busy Spring half-term.
We have enjoyed exploring the theme Space. The nursery children used their imaginations to explore how to travel into space using the book 'Whatever Next?' to inspire creative thinking.
A visit from a vet.
At the end of the half-term we had a visit from a local vet and their dog. The vet told the nursery about the importance of caring for animals and we discussed what pets need to be healthy.
Literacy parent share.
It was fantastic to see so many parents attend the Literacy parent share session, we have used your feedback to plan a Mathematics focused parent share in March. We will send home a letter confirming the date and time over the next week.
We have been learning about our senses. We have carried out different activities to encourage the children to use their senses.
Race for life
We took part in race for life in memory of our old Head teacher, Mrs Reynish. The children all did very well and ran around the track with enthusiasm.
Settling into Nursery
All of the children have settled into the nursery routine well. They have been making new friends and learning how to share. We have had a fun first month. Here are some photographs of the activities the children have been doing.
We have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. We had five caterpillars which came to nursery very tiny. When they got bigger, they spun their cocoon. When they came out of their cocoon they were beautiful butterflies. We looked after them for a couple of days. Then we let go in our forest school area. It was a great experience.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who came to our sports day. The children really enjoyed having you there. I hope you all had a good morning.
We have been learning about the life cycles of frogs and looking for mini beasts
